Target audience

Non-Japanese nationals who wish to work in Japan under the status of residence “Specified Skills”

Seminar Outline

“Specified Skills” is a status of residence for accepting overseas workers with certain specializations and skills, which was created to address Japan’s labor shortage.

This seminar will present basic information about the system, the latest work categories and industry types covered by it, and an overview of the skills evaluation test.

We look forward to the active participation of those who are considering working in Japan.

  • Questions will be solicited when participants apply for the seminar and answered during the Q&A period. Questions will not be accepted while the seminar is in progress. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Application Process

  • Application will be closed when the capacity is reached, so it is recommended that you apply as soon as possible.
  • If you have not received an email invite two business days before the date of the seminar, or if you wish to inquire about a modification or cancelation, please get in touch using the contact information indicated below (info-sswm-ht@aots.jp).
  • Display the application form

    Display the form with “Apply” on the seminar page.

  • Fill out and send the application form

    Fill out each item in the application form and send it.

  • Receive application confirmation email

    An application confirmation email will be sent to the email address you entered.

  • Receive email invite

    An email invite will be sent to the email address you entered at least two business days before the event.

  • Day of the seminar

    View the seminar using the URL or ID and password indicated in the email invite.

  • After consulting the email invite, install the application to be used and test your connection.
  • If you are unable to install the application for security reasons, it is also possible to view the seminar in a browser (Google Chrome is recommended).
  • The email invite will be sent from info-sswm-ht@aots.jp.
  • In the event that you do not receive an email invite at least two business days before the seminar, contact the email address above.

Viewing the Seminar

Systems to be used
  • Viewing the seminar: Cisco’s Webex will be used
  • Distributed documents: to be downloaded using a file transmission system

  • Check your Internet speed (30 Mbps or more is recommended.)

  • With regards to downloading documents

    • Screen projection will be used during the seminar, but depending on your viewing environment, documents may be difficult to see.We therefore recommend downloading them in advance.
On the day of the seminar
  • Please enter the room early on the day of the seminar.

    It will be possible to enter the room in Webex 30 minutes before the start of the seminar. Attendees who are uncertain about using the platform should access it early.

  • If you have questions after the seminar, feel free to ask them via the assistance service indicated at the bottom of the flyer.
  • Details will be provided in the email invite (sent at least two business days before the seminar).
